Airline looking to increase destinations

The Jet2.com recruitment drive appears to be part of an expansion plan for the company that flies from East Midlands and and seven other UK airports.

Pair charged with neglect after swimming pool incident

Two women have been charged with wilful neglect of a person without mental capacity.

The charges relate to an incident in January when an 18-year-old sustained injuries after getting into a swimming pool at West Gate School in Leicester.

As well as the car rage charges, McCabe also admitted punching a patient and a nurse at the Bradgate Unit on 13 August.

Along with his nine-week jail sentence, he was ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

McCabe jumped onto two other cars before police arrived.

He kicked out at officers and there was a scuffle on the flooor before he was arrested.

He later told police he couldn't remember much of what had happened as he'd drunk one-and-a-half litres of vodka and Polish beer.

Leicester Magistrates' Court heard McCabe jumped onto three cars near St Margaret's Way during rush hour.

He started shouting racial abuse at a couple. The driver tried to edge away slowly but he punched the windscreen and damaged the wipers.

The couple said the language he used scared them.

As well as racially aggravated criminal damage, 37-year-pld McCabe admitted damaging motor vehicles and resisting arrest.

Onlookers described him as looking "furious" during the attacks, on 4 August.

Lord Janner is being tried by 'proxy,' son claims

Here is some more from that fascinating interview with Daniel Janner, the son of the late Lord Janner, about the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse. 

"This is a proxy trial whipped up by the media to have a strand in relation to my late father," he said. 

"He is the only individual of the 13 strands being inquired into. All the rest of them are institutions like the Church of England."
