Former NHS worker sentenced for possessing almost 1,000 child porn images

Patrick Gladding was arrested after police raided his home at Salmonby near Horncastle in 2014 when officers seized computer equipment.

He had downloaded 970 child porn images - including nearly 200 of the most serious type. The 58-year-old, who now lives at Fareham, Hampshire, has been given an eight month jail sentence suspended for two years. 

He's been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and has been placed on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

Some issues remain on the county's roads this evening

There's disruption in the centre of Grantham as Anglian water continue to try and fix a burst water main there.

There's also slow traffic on the A1 in Rutland heading north. One lane is blocked on the Great North Road between the Rutland Water turn off and Great Casterton. It's because of a broken down lorry. 

There's also congestion on the A17 at Algarkirk, roadworks are slowing traffic to a crawl.

Serco boss admits mistakes with school finances

As we told you earlier teachers attending the meeting with Sean Hanson today left disappointed with the results. 

It was set up after BBC Radio Lincolnshire reported on the catalogue of errors including unpaid bills and difficulty with budget planning.

I've spoken to Sean Hanson as he left. He said that while he didn't think the issues had been "a disaster" he understood that there had been problems.

Traffic and Travel: A1 has reopened

The A1 has reopened northbound at Wittering after a serious accident a few hours ago. 

'Flatpack Lancaster' built for new film

Some industrious film makers have built their own Lancaster bomber, almost entirely from scratch in a shed just outside of Sleaford.

They're producing a film called "Our Shining Sword" about a bomber crew set at the height of the Second World War.

Appeal to find missing teenager

Police are appealing for information to help trace a teenage girl who maybe in the Skegness or Lincoln areas.

Nikki Phipps,16, was reported missing to Nottinghamshire Police but is also known to have links to Derby and Lincoln.

We're still in the same position, we don't know when things are going to happen. They've reassured us they're going to fix things but we've had so many promises before.

Water problems in Grantham continue longer than expected

Engineers are still trying to mend a burst water main in Grantham. 

Anglian Water say disruption int the Dysart Road area is now likely to continue until 17:00. 

City Council urge more people to sign up for emergency texts

Lincoln came to a standstill last week after a digger ruptured a gas pipe at the East West link road site.

Many homes and businesses had to be evacuated as a result and the council say Friday's events served as a 'timely reminder' to sign up for their free service. 

The city centre is divided into 27 zones and you'll receive a text if you need to leave your zone.

Crunch meeting between Serco and teachers begins

Man pleads guilty to £23,000 distraction theft

A man has admitted stealing thousands of pounds from a 93-year-old war veteran at a Lincolnshire cash machine. 

The victim had his card stolen after being distracted by three men while withdrawing cash from a NatWest bank in Grantham on 14 December.

Ion Anghel, 48, of Sherwood Street, Wolverhampton admitted the theft at a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.

Man wanted in connection with Stamford theft

Lincolnshire police have issued a CCTV images of a man they want to talk to in connection with a theft from a shop in Stamford. 

At around 16:00 on Thursday, 24 March a man went into Wilkinsons on the High Street and stole a throw.

Wonky Veg-phobia means tonnes of food going to waste

There are calls for greater efforts to reduce food waste in Lincolnshire. 

Strict standards mean some vegetables grown in the county end up being thrown away or used as animal feed. 

That's despite claims by some that they're perfectly good to eat.

It's not just the roads being disrupted by the burst pipe in Grantham this morning. 

Anglain water say some people in Grantham have no water at all in their homes.

They're hoping to have it fixed by 14:30.

Memorial for British victims killed in Tunisia terrorist attack

A memorial is to be held for the thirty Britons, including 24-year-old Gainsborough woman Carly Lovett, that were killed last year in terror attacks at Port El Kantaoui last year.

The so-called Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on the 26 June, the service for survivors of the attacks and victims' families will be held at Westminster Abbey.

Dozens of schools in showdown with Serco

Last month we told you about the catalogue of blunders that left schools around the county in disarray and 'put pupils at risk'

Serco has been in charge of finance support services at county run schools for a year but in that time some headteachers have been unable to see their budget, staff and contractors have gone unpaid and supplies have been repossessed.

Today a meeting is taking place between managing director, Sean Hanson, and the head of Barkston and Syston Primary Sally-Anne Caunter to talk about the problems. 

But Sally-Anne isn't alone, this morning she's told us that 30 other schools asked to send representatives when they heard a meeting was taking place.
