Wonder if this Mariner will be making the voyage to Wembley again this weekend?

Grimsby Town are back in the capital for the FA Trophy final. And they've sold 9,161 tickets to fans so far.

There will also be tickets on sale at Wembley on the day - so if this captain wants to join the crew, it's not too late.

The question is - what will happen if they win? 

They've already had an open-top bus tour. How about a tour round Grimsby docks on a trawler?

Traffic and travel across Lincolnshire: A17 still closed

The A17 Station Road in Swineshead is still closed and slow traffic in both directions between the A1121 junction and Bicker Bar roundabout. 

It's because of that serious accident involving five lorries earlier. Police are directing traffic.

Former police officer convicted of sex assaults on boys

A former Lincolnshire Police officer has been convicted of 18 historic sexual assaults on four young boys. 

John Edward Bates, 68,  has been warned he faces a "very substantial" jail sentence. He had denied all charges against him. 

The court heard that Bates had met his victims through his role as a scout master in Wittering and Spalding during the 1970s and 80s. 

Bates - formerly from Pinchbeck Road in Spalding - but who now lives in Camden, North London was remanded in custody and will be sentenced tomorrow

Warning over caravan con

You're being warned not to fall foul of a caravan holiday scam in our region. 

Last month the police had nine reports of people losing their money after being conned into booking breaks that didn't exist.

Most of the victims were from North East Lincolnshire and paid between £50 and £145 to secure their caravans which had been advertised to rent through social media. 

However after pressing for confirmation of their booking - they found all contact was blocked.

So here they are - I waited all morning and finally some of the poppies arrived.

They were on display at the Tower of London and over the next few days they're being installed in Lincoln Castle.

A17 crash: Military vehicles being driven by civilians

A few more details have been released by the police about the crash on the A17 this lunchtime.

Officers say the four military vehicles involved were not being driven by military personnel, but civilians.

Another HGV was also involved. The drivers of each of the HGVs has been injured. Three of the men are described as seriously injured.

Humber rescue: Boat sank within 25 minutes

The RNLI says two people rescued from a motor cruiser on the River Humber at 05.00 this morning needed no medical attention.

But it sounds like they were lucky. 

Their vessel - the Pegotty sank about 25 minutes after they issued a Mayday.

It's thought the craft got into difficulty after a collision in fog. 

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.

Police operation checking foreign lorries

There's a major operation ongoing at Immingham Docks today to check up on foreign trucks coming into the county.

As well as checking for mechanical faults like the one found above - police are also looking for smuggled goods and people as part of Operation Trivium.

Peregrine chicks hatch at Lincoln Cathedral

We've just heard from Lincoln Cathedral where two peregrine falcon chicks are thought to have hatched on the tower. 

This picture shows a falcon on the cathedral a couple of years ago - and it's unlikely we'll see the new chicks in the next few days.

A cathedral spokesman says: "This year they have chosen a spot that we cannot get to and is slightly out of sight.

"We do however believe that we have two chicks and these should have hatched in the last couple of days. 

"We hope to have further information in the next 10 days once the chicks start to walk around on the ledges."

BreakingA17 crash: Three airlifted to hospital

More information from the police on the crash on the A17.

Officers confirm the collision involves four trucks and each of the drivers has been injured.

Three men have been airlifted to hospital - two to the Queens Medical Centre, in Nottingham, and one to Addenbrookes, in Cambridge - and a woman has been taken to QMC by land ambulance.

Police say the A17 has been closed at Bicker Bar roundabout and at the junction with the Boardsides turnoff. Diversions are in place.

Officers say that as well as those taken to hospital, a number of people are injured and are being attended to at the scene. The crash has happened outside Adrian Padley motors at Swineshead.

More now from the scene on the A17 where four military vehicles and an articulated lorry have crashed.

The collision's happened directly outside a car dealership where Lisa Padley works - she's been describing what happened.

She said: "It was on the junction - I don't know whether the first person has had to brake harsh and it's been like a domino effect.

"I would say there are some quite serious injuries. We've been across - my husbands been in the cab with the lorry driver since it happened."

We've just heard from Lisa Padley, who works at the car dealership on the A17 at Swineshead where there's been a major road collision this lunchtime.

She says there's four army lorries and an articulated lorry in a "massive collision".

1,000 more tickets for Mariners' second Wembley date

Grimsby Town has put an extra 1,000 tickets up for sale at Blundell Park for Sunday's match at Wembley.

The Mariners are in FA Trophy final action against Halifax after beating Forest Green Rovers there on Sunday (above) for promotion back to the Football League. 

The tickets will be available at the ground today and tomorrow - more than 8,000 tickets have been sold so far.

Two rescued after boat sinks in River Humber

Two people have been rescued after a boat sank following a collision in fog on the River Humber.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency received a Mayday call just before 05.00 from a sinking motor cruiser just north of Grimsby dock.

Two people were rescued from the cruiser which was taking on water and quickly sank.

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.  

Students launch campaign over lights switch-off policy

This group of sixth form students from the Castle Academy in Lincoln is campaigning for the county council to think again about switching off some street lights late at night.

The council says it will save £1.7m, but the students' petition has almost 1,500 signatures.

Councillor Richard Davies - who's in charge of the policy - says there's no evidence switching off lights at 22.00 has any impact on public safety or crime.

Barons success leads to new charge for the knights

Just a few more details on this picture from Dan in Spalding. He took it from Sainsbury's car park in the town and it's not a Wizard of Oz-style tornado on the way.

It's what's known as a funnel cloud - for it to become a tornado it would have to make contact with the ground.
