Update: Blaze at Grantham trucking factory

This was the fire at Fruehauf Trucking Company in Grantham earlier.

Five fire engines have been called to the scene.

It;s now believed the fire is under control.

Lincolnshire police are investigating allegations of election expenses irregularities.

It's after reports of irregularities in the election expenses of the Conservative Party and some of their candidates in the General Election last year and three by-elections in 2014.

In a statement on its website Lincolnshire police said: "We are investigating these allegations but as these investigations are ongoing, we will be making no further comment at this stage."

Traffic and Travel: Coast road blocked after accident

An accident on the A1104 between Beesby and Mablethorpe is causing severe delays. 

The road there is blocked both ways.

Double the chance of winning a place on this summer's Lincoln flume

Organisers of Lincoln's water flume say they're doubling the number of people who'll get to slide their way down Steep Hill this summer. 

The Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, who are behind the event, say 800 people will now be in line to be picked out of the draw.

Police appeal after van collides with three cars

Police are appealing for information after a white ford transit van allegedly collided with three other vehicles and failed to stop.

The van was travelling from Silver Street in Lincoln before it turned right onto Broadgate and then travelled on to Canwick Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Britain 'too slow' at deporting foreign criminals

The chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee says Britain is too slow at deporting foreign criminals.

Keith Vaz told BBC Radio Lincolnshire it is a great and unnecessary expense for taxpayers and the UK should request an EU directive - to force countries like Poland to take back their citizens.

He said: "We need to do more with those countries that share a table with us to make sure they do their job.

"We have to continue to bang on and press the government and keep on their backs until this figure comes down."

Strong gusts prevent sea front clean up

Strong winds continue to hamper efforts to remove sand drifts from Mablethorpe seafront.

Businesses affected by the drifts, up to four feet high, appealed for help to clear the sand, but so far the conditions are proving too difficult.

East Lindsey District Council say they're making arrangements to remove the sand.

Neighbourhoods Manager, Danny Wilson said: “We are in the process of making arrangements to remove the wind-blown sand from the main public access areas of the Promenade. 

"The wind is still very strong and the sand will be blown back again very quickly. Wind direction is due to change in the next few days”.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire takes music to the bridge

Some of the county's most talented musicians will be performing on a Bridge in Boston as part of BBC Music Day. 

There is a full day of live acts 'taking it to the bridge' at St Botolph's in the town.

It's one of 40 events around the country to celebrate the county's rising stars in music.

Decision due on PCC deputy

BHS to be wound down as rescue attempt fails

One hundred jobs in Lincoln are hanging in the balance as high street retailer BHS announces it's to close its doors. 

The chain is expected to close 160 branches across the UK in the next six weeks after failing to find a buyer.

Conservationists have urged Lincolnshire's fisheries to not take matters into their own hands after rising otter numbers.

It's being claimed the increase is creating problems for hundreds of the county's anglers.

EU foreign criminals should be deported says Lincolnshire MP

A Lincolnshire MP says Britain needs to be deporting more foreign criminals and tightening the borders to those who've already offended abroad. 

It comes as the Home Affairs Select Committee have released a report highlighting what it calls the failure to remove a small number of foreign national offenders from UK prisons.

Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman says the Home Office should be doing more.   

He said: "We need to be deporting more people, we've already deported tens of thousands of people back to their own country and we need to be quicker and better at making people sure people know that it could happen.

"And ultimately if people have got a criminal record they're not allowed in."
