Lancaster could be grounded for Armed Forces Day

Lincolnshire's Lancaster Bomber might not take part in the national Armed Forces Day celebrations in Cleethorpes. 

The event is being held on the weekend of 25 June and will include air displays including the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

But Chief Technician Paul Routledge from RAF Coningsby where the Lancaster is based, has told us it's still being repaired after an engine fire last year and may not make it.

Detectives investigating a violent disturbance at two addresses in Coverdale Road, Scunthorpe, have issued these three pictures of men they want to speak to.

Officers say the incident happened shortly after 22.25 last Wednesday have released the pictures of three men they want to interview.

BreakingFlood alert issued ahead of more heavy rain

A flood alert's been issued by the Environment Agency this afternoon for watercourses which flow into the South Forty Foot drain in the south of Lincolnshire. 

The agency says you should be prepared because heavy rainfall's expected this evening and into tomorrow.

Moth influx threat to cabbage and cauliflower crop

Scientists are warning that crops of cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage could be devastated by an infestation of moths arriving from Europe.

BBC News understands that vast numbers of diamondback moths are thought to have come to the UK in the past week.

Researchers describe the species as a "super pest" because it is thought to be resistant to several insecticides.

A football supporter from Lincolnshire who witnessed violence in Marseille said it was terrifying. 

Trouble broke out between England and Russian fans at the weekend and Craig Lyons (below right) from Bourne was caught in the violence.

Craig told me how he saw one man seriously injured in the street and tried to help him. It comes as Russia is given a suspended disqualification from the tournament if there is further trouble involving their fans

He described the scenes as "carnage" and said hooligans were "indiscriminately" attacking people "four or five onto one".

Lincolnshire 'worst for sick days' survey claims

A new survey is claiming today that Lincolnshire has one of the worst rates of sickness from work in the UK. 

The figures have been compiled for the manufacturers' organisation - EEF.

It claims more than five-and-a-half days were lost per person last year. The East Midlands region has the third highest sickness rate in the UK and the absence rate is 2.5%

Fund for firefighter James tops £10,000

Here's a screenshot from the JustGiving website - it's a page raising cash for Boston firefighter James Thorpe, who's broken his neck in a swimming accident on his stag do.

James and his friends went to Majorca ahead of his wedding a week on Friday - and he says he's still determined to go ahead with the ceremony.

Louth water main burst update

A break-in at a church in Skegness is being investigated by police. 

Officers say a window was smashed at the St Matthew church over the weekend and damage was caused to the church organ. 

An appeal's being made for witnesses.

Stamford stabbing: Man charged

A 45-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent after a stabbing in a Stamford pub.

Sean Mitchell, of All Saints Street in Stamford, will appear before Lincoln Magistrates later this afternoon.

He was arrested after an incident involving a 53-year-old man who suffered stab wounds in the town's St Mary's Vaults pub last Sunday lunchtime.

Lincoln Theatre Royal fails to pay creditors £460,000

Five companies associated with Lincoln Theatre Royal failed to pay a total of more than £460,000 to performers, contractors and investors.

A printer said he was not paid more than £8,000, while one singer said he had not been paid about £2,500.

The theatre went into liquidation for the second time in three years in September 2015.

Those involved denied the claims saying they always endeavoured to make payment to all creditors as soon as possible.

Firefighter 'determined to wed' despite breaking neck on stag do

We've been speaking to Michaella Watson bout her fiance James Thorpe, who's broken his neck on his stag do in Majorca.

James, who's a firefighter from Boston, says he's determined to get married a week on Friday, despite what's happened.

Michaella told us she's currently working with travel insurers to get James back to the UK where it's hoped he'll get specialist treatment in Sheffield.
