MP's Brexit bus suffers damaged windscreen

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

Not everything went to plan for the city of Lincoln's MP Karl McCartney during his Vote Leave tour yesterday.

The aim was to travel across various different locations across the county canvassing support as they went. It all started well enough in Lincoln:

But while heading to Grantham a large stone, shot from under the tyre of a lorry, smashed the windscreen of the VW Campaign bus, affectionately named "Albert".

Whilst the tour had to end there for Mr McCartney, other members of the Vote Leave carried on, eventually completing the tour in Sleaford.

The beach, the bar and the war on dog poo

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

We got a call from a member of the public saying that the beach at Ingoldmells Point was in a bit of a sorry state.

Cans, plastic bags and worst of all, dog poo strewn about. Sometimes bagged and just left there.

It's privately owned by Bibbys beach bar, they have cleaners out there every day just to keep it under control.

An application to build a temporary bus station in Lincoln has been approved by the city council's planning committee.

The building, earmarked to be built in Tentercroft Street, would allow the city's existing bus station to be demolished and rebuilt.

Car knocks down headstones after driving through Louth cemetery

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

Police want to speak to three young men after a car was driven through a graveyard at about 5:30pm on Monday last week.

The vehicle was blocked in by a member of staff but not before damage was caused to some of the headstones.  The driver and passengers then abandoned the car and left on foot in the direction of the town centre.

Police want to identify the three in this CCTV image:

That's what faced Sgt Matt Harness as he drove Kaylee Halshaw to the hospital.

They had to make an emergency stop in the Waggon and Horses car park in Branston and - with the help of the landlord - baby Spencer was brought into the world.
