Engineers find Magna Carta vault problem

Experts investigating the cause of a humidity rise in the Magna Carta vault have discovered a small leak in the drainage system.

The historic document had to be removed from Lincoln Castle after the conditions became unsuitable for its preservation.

Will Brown, county heritage manager, told BBC Radio Lincolnshire, contractors were working on the problem but couldn't give an exact time for its return.

Police appeal for missing Boston teenager

Police are appealing for information about a 19-year-old man from Boston.

Ryan Young, 19, was last seen in the town at around 17:00 on Thursday, boarding a train for Nottingham.

He is white, clean shaven, around 5ft 4in, slim build and with short, brown crew cut hair, wearing red jeans and a red t-shirt.

Castle celebrates 200,000th visitor to poppy exhibition

A woman from Barcelona is the 200,000th visitor to Lincoln Castle to look at the Tower of London poppy exhibition.

Amy Farrington, originally from Lincoln but now living in Spain,was given all-inclusive tickets to the castle's other attractions.

Lincoln was chosen to host Wave, by artist Paul Cummins and installation by Tom Piper, by the arts programme for the First World War centenary, 1418NOW.  

Lincoln College needs 'string of improvements' - Ofsted

Lincoln College has been told to make a string of improvements in a critical OFSTED report.

Its rating has dropped from "outstanding" to "requires improvement".

Inspectors looked at nine key areas; seven were given a "requires improvement" rating.

Chief Executive Gary Headland says the rating reflects dramatic changes to the framework Ofsted uses during inspections.    

Buzz ahead of Imps' match

There's a real buzz ahead of tonight's clash between Grantham Town and Lincoln City.

It will be the first time the Imps have played under new manager Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky who took over at the club earlier this summer.

A man has been slashed in the face during an incident in Lincoln.

The assault hapened on Thursday night on Smith Street.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene. A woman was also arrested in connection with the incident.

Police appeal after pub attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious outside a pub in Spalding.

The assault took place outside the Punchbowl Pub in the town.

It's believed the 26-year-old man was punched just after midnight on Saturday 1 July.

Smuggled cigarettes and alcohol seized in raid

A food and drink store in Kirton has had its alcohol licence revoked after 1,700 contraband cigarettes and smuggled alcohol was seized.

The raid followed an undercover test purchase in March in which a police officer was sold a packet of foreign labelled cigarettes.

The cigarettes and bottles of vodka were found both inside the store and hidden in a van parked at the rear of the store. 

Sergeant Kim Enderby, from the Alcohol Licensing Team, said: "This is the eighth licence to be revoked in the county this year, sending a clear message that criminal behaviour of any type will not be tolerated."

Dragon breathes life into Doddington Hall

Here's a sneaky picture of a dragon willow sculpture that will be the focus of a special festival at Doddington Hall this summer.

Children and adults will be able enter the dragon’s belly; children can crawl through its tail as well as walk under its wings and look up to see its blazing orange eyes.

Lincolnshire reacts to battle for PM role

There's been a mixed reaction in Lincolnshire to the women hoping to become the next Prime Minister.

Theresa May and Andrea Leadsom will battle it out to become the next leader of the Conservative Party.

There are  calls from many in Lincolnshire for a general election.

Police 'very concerned' for two missing girls in Grimsby

Police are searching for two young girls with learning difficulties who were reported missing in Grimsby.

Twelve-year-old Mollie Evans and 17-year-old Chloe Bensley were last seen close to the Welholme Road/Convamore Road in Grimsby on Thursday night.

Mollie is white, around 5ft tall with thick blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a pink top, blue jeans and white Nike trainers which have a bright pink tick on them.

Chloe is white, 5ft 3ins tall with a slim build. She has shoulder length brown straight hair which was half up in a bobble. She was last seen wearing combat leggings, a matching jumper and black Adidas trainers.

Listen: Mum says heart unit closure will put 'lives at risk'

A Lincolnshire mum says her son's life is being put at risk with the news that a specialist heart unit in Leicester is to close. 

Sam Norton's six-year-old son Harry had open heart surgery at the Glenfield. 

She says it now means he'll be treated at a hospital in Birmingham - some distance from her North Hykeham home.

NHS England has also announced hospitals such as the Royal Brompton, Papworth and Imperial College will no longer be allowed to treat congenital heart disease.

Sculpture honour for Lincolnshire maths supremo

A sculpture inspired by the Lincoln-born mathematician George Boole is to be officially unveiled later on the banks of the City's Brayford Pool. 

It's made of stainless steel and will be on display for two months to commemorate Boole's achievements.

Red Arrows give teenagers trip of a lifetime

Nine teenagers were offered the trip of a lifetime....courtesy of the Red Arrows. 

They're all members of the RAF Air Cadets and were offered the flight to mark the 75th anniversary of the organisation.

Children's heart surgery at Glenfield Hospital to stop

NHS England has taken the decision to stop children's heart surgery at Leicester's Glenfield Hospital.

It means families from Lincolnshire will now have to travel to Birmingham, London or Leeds for care.

It was thought the service would move to a new children's hospital in the city but staff were told it would no longer be supported by NHS England.

The hospital does not meet new standards set by the NHS following a national review last year.
