Coroner Paul Kelly instructed North East Lincolnshire Council and contractors Engie to carry out an independent review of the safety of the road.

The council has announced today that a series of inspections will be carried out under full road closures for one week from Monday 8 August between 07:30 and 18:00.

Ultimately, the purpose of this work is to prevent such a tragedy occurring again on this stretch of the A18.

Organ donation: Two people saved by our decision, says teenager's father

Scott Dalton

Presenter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

As a country we don't really talk about organ donation, which often means that when we die our relatives don't really know our wishes if we haven't filled out a donor card.

A new campaign called "donation conversation" is being launched by NHS Blood and Transplant to encourage you to do just that and let your family know if it's something you want to do.

I've been speaking to Nigel Burton from Grantham, who's from the Donor Family Network. His son died when he was just 16. Take a listen:

Grimsby Town say violence 'won't be tolerated' at tomorrow's match

BBC Humberside Sport

“Anyone involved in football-related violence will be banned from Blundell Park.”

That’s the message from Humberside Police and Grimsby Town Football Club before tomorrow’s friendly against Oldham Athletic.

The warning comes after six arrests were made last weekend when The Mariners faced Sheffield United.

Four people were charged and police are reviewing CCTV with the hope of making more arrests.

It would be wrong to describe these individuals as football fans. They are just people who attach themselves to the name of a club as a prerequisite to their mindless violent and criminal behaviour."

Jellyfish on the rise

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

You might want to keep an eye out if you're planning on going to the coast this weekend, the Marine Conservation Society says jellyfish are on the rise in our waters.

Some scientists think its because of climate change and overfishing, whereas others believe the numbers fluctuate every 20 years or so.

The Lion's Mane Jellyfish is one to be especially wary of, it has the most powerful and painful sting of all the jellyfish found in UK waters.

Lincoln City sign former Grimsby Town winger on two-year contract

The Imps have announced that Nathan Arnold is the latest man to join their squad.

It might be a bitter pill to swallow for local rivals Grimsby Town. After  ulling it over Arnold turned down their contract offer last month.

The Imps new funding drive "Cowley's Campaign" helped pay for their latest purchase.

Travellers park illegally in Mablethorpe

BBC Radio Lincolnshire

There are about 15 caravans parked in the Seacroft Car Park in Mablethorpe.

East Lindsey District Council are currently in the process of instigating legal action against the owners of the caravans but they say "the speed at which this matter can be dealt with is determined by the legal process".

There are plans to install a height restriction barrier on the car park to stop caravans from parking there illegally in the future.

Fire service to look at withdrawing cover at sea

Sally Fairfax

BBC Radio Humberside

The fire service in this region could soon withdraw its cover for fires at sea.

A report by the service's Deputy Chief Fire Officer says it may become unsafe due to a lack of access to suitable training.

Humberside Fire Service provides cover for an area of the North Sea stretching from Norfolk to Scotland. Firefighters are transported to stricken vessels by tug or helicopter.

The service is one of eight around the coast of the UK which currently attend incidents at sea.

"However," says deputy chief fire officer Chris Blacksell, "recent restrictions on the provision of suitable training to the firefighters that volunteer to undertake that role mean that it is likely that we will have to stop attending incidents 'at sea' by August 2016."

Fresh calls for government investment in construction and infrastructure

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

According to figures from the National House Building Council the number of homes being registered for building has reached its highest level since the 2008 recession.

However, the Federation of Master Builders is warning uncertainty following the Brexit vote could reverse progress made since then.

Paul McSorely from Lincolnshire-based construction firm Lindum says government investment is desperately needed:

People want certainty, they want confidence that there is going to be that investment there. Clearly the private sector is going to go through a period of uncertainty when people review the impact of Brexit but there's no reason to shut up shop.
