Domesday Book: In good company

Alex Rhodes

BBC Lincolnshire Live

When the Domesday Book comes to the Castle this summer it'll take pride of place next to one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta in the specially designed vault.

It cost millions to build and was finished back in 2014 as part of extensive works to renovate the castle.

BBC

It's had its issues in the past though, last year the Magna Carta had to be temporarily moved to a secret location because a fault with the roof meant the humidity levels weren't correct.

It's all sorted now though so the National Archives need not worry!

Impvasion: Hair raising rendition of Ulysses

BBC Look North

East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Maybe it hasn't all quite sunk in for you yet?

Well, if you still can't quite believe it then never fear! We got actor and voice of The Cube Colin McFarlane to get us all in the mood for the match tomorrow with this dramatic rendition of Tennyson's Ulysses (another Lincolnshire lad dontcha know).

If that doesn't get your heart pumping then you might want to check you're still alive!

Thieves have targeted the Business School and the university says all incidents have been reported to the police.

Craig Marsh from the University says it's a real problem:

Impvasion: When the Reds met the Imps

Alex Rhodes

Teamwork and formation are as important on the pitch as they are in the air so the Red Arrows and the Lincoln City players might have more in common than you'd think!

They got to meet the world famous display team at RAF Scampton and they brought the FA Cup with them!

Paul Farman and Terry Hawkridge got a tour of the station and got a chance to see the Reds practice as well.

Red 1, David Montenegro, said they were happy to have them:

It was a real pleasure to host some of the Lincoln City players this week as their tremendous Cup run has captivated the city of Lincoln and indeed underlines the magic of the FA Cup.

Impvasion: Great grandad in Arsenal-beating team of 1915

Louise Wheeler

BBC Local Live

I always knew that my great grandad Andrew 'Andy' Gardner had played for Lincoln City.

It was something my late gran Jean Wheeler spoke about often. She was extremely proud of her dad's links to Lincoln City and was an Imps supporter herself.

She spoke fondly of watching her dad train and play for the team.

Andy was born in Scotland and played a couple of times for Scotland and captained Lincoln City.

It wasn't until this week though that I realised he was part of the team that beat Arsenal 1-0.  In the picture he is fifth from left, middle row.

Here's hoping history repeats itself this weekend.

This summer the Domesday Book is going to be displayed at Lincoln Castle

I's usually kept in the National Archives in London and was originally comissioned by Norman king William the Conqueror back in 1086.

We've got some slow traffic on the A16 Spalding Road heading north in Boston, it's especially bad at the A52 Liquorpond Street.
