That's it from me after a somewhat busy few hours, but before I go here's a quick rundown of the thrills and spills we've had in Lincolnshire as the general election results flowed in:

Lincolnshire
BBC
  • Lincoln is now an island of red in a sea of blue after Karen Lee clinched the seat for Labour

Watch: Lincoln's young voters have their say

Lizzie Musham

BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Labour's success in Lincoln has been put down in part to the number of young people coming out to vote.

Lincoln has a large number of university students and we asked young people in the city what persuaded them to vote:

Man dies in crash near Grantham

A 20-year-old man has died after the car he was driving came off the road at Londonthorpe near Grantham and overturned.

It happened at about 22:35 yesterday night on High Road, police say.

A 19-year-old local man who was a passenger in the car was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where he remains in a very serious condition.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is being asked to get in touch with police.

Lincolnshire's mental health services 'good' - health watchdog

Lincolnshire's mental health services have been rated "good" by a national health watchdog.

The Care Quality Commission report follows an inspection carried out in April which said services at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust required improvement overall.

The latest report says supervision and maintenance of patient records still need improving though, and demand on beds and acute care remain high - reflecting national pressures.

But, safety, caring and responsive staff and leadership are all rated good, the report says.

Lincoln's new MP aims to continue nursing

Karen Lee, Lincoln's new Labour MP, also happens to be a nurse at Lincoln County Hospital.

Karen Lee
BBC

She's preparing to take her seat at Westminster after having pushed out Conservative Karl McCartney.

Despite this, she says she hopes she can still do some nursing shifts as well as carrying out her duties as the city's new MP.

Ms Lee says: "I would really like to carry on, perhaps doing the odd bank shift and keep my registration current. I had to work very hard to be a nurse and I enjoy being a nurse."

Extra police kept close eye on election counts

There were extra officers on duty at election counts across the country last night.

These officers were on patrol at the Guildhall in Hull:
