A doctor's practice in North Manchester has been rated "inadequate" by the Care Quality Commission, which inspects health provision at hospitals, surgeries and care homes.

Dr Mokashi's surgery in Clayton received the rating following an inspection.

The BBC has approached the practice for comment.

Stephen Hunt, 38, died in July 2013 after taking a wrong turning inside the smoke-filled rooms of Paul's Hair World in Oldham Street, Manchester.  

He was among 60 firefighters called to the fire in the Northern Quarter.

Missing teen's social media accounts have 'gone silent'

Police say missing teenager Jade Lynch's social media accounts have "gone silent" since her disappearance 10 days ago.

Cheshire fire boss Paul Hancock has now also become chief of Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.

He said sharing "resources such as this will not only produce savings but also lead to increased resilience and expertise".

Peregrine falcons return to Manchester city centre

A pair of peregrine falcons who've lived in Manchester city centre for ten years, have returned to their nest again this season.

Thousands of people around the world have followed the birds every year on a webcam set up by the RSPB.

They've successfully raised 34 chicks over the last decade. A live stream will be set up later this month.

The jury at the inquest into the death of Greater Manchester firefighter Stephen Hunt has visited the site of the fire.

The father-of-two from Bury died as he tackled a severe blaze at a hair and beauty products shop in Manchester city centre in July 2013.

It's believed Mr Hunt, 38, and a colleague got into difficulties inside the building - when visibility was virtually nil - and were rescued, but he later died in hospital.

The jurors spent 30 minutes at the shop, which has since been refurbished and reopened. A plaque on its outside wall (pictured) is dedicated to Mr Hunt.

Disappearance of missing girl Jade Lynch 'out of character'

The disappearance of a teenager who has been missing since 26 March is "out of character", a Cheshire Police spokeswoman has said.

Jade Lynch, 14, from Warrington, told her brothers she was going to meet somebody on the day she was last seen.

Jade was on her way to St Helens town centre with her two younger brothers but left them in the Duke Street area in order to meet somebody.

She is also thought to have links to the Manchester area but may also have links "as far north as Cumbria and as far south as Bristol".

As a young girl, Jaide Ward, from Ashton-in-Makerfield, underwent nine months of chemotherapy to cure a rare form of cancer in her pelvis and was told she would probably never have children.  

But she conceived naturally and had not one baby, but three baby girls - Caitlyn, Scarlett and Francesca.
