Man charged with causing explosion

A man has been charged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life.

Police were called to reports of a loud bang in Victoria Avenue East in north Manchester on Saturday.

The 52-year-old man, of Ashton Road, Oldham has also been charged with a number of other offences including possession of a firearm and possession with intent to supply a class C substance. He will appear before magistrates in Manchester on 9 May.

Football: Man Utd's Fellaini charged by FA

Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini and Leicester City defender Robert Huth have been charged with violent conduct by the FA after an off-the-ball clash.

Fellaini swung an elbow at Huth after the German pulled his hair during Sunday's 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

The incident was not seen by match officials but caught on video.

Both players, who could be banned for three matches, have until 18:00 on 4 May to answer the charge.

She had been on a night out at the Victoria Warehouse in Trafford.

Man, 61, found dead in Rochdale flat

A man has been found dead at a flat in Greater Manchester, police have said.


His body was discovered at the property in Town Mill Brow in College Bank Way, Rochdale, on Monday afternoon.

The 61-year-old, who has not been named, was found with "various injuries,".
