Teenager 'dragged into alley'

Police are searching for a man who grabbed a teenager from behind, covered her mouth and dragged her into an alleyway.

The 18-year-old managed to struggle free during the assault, which happened near Linwood Road, Tranmere, Wirral, at 22:30 GMT on 29 December.

Merseyside Police have released CCTV images of the suspect.

Train operators across Britain have signed up to a code of practice designed to help travellers get the best deal possible.

It follows a summit called by the rail minister, Claire Perry, and comes on the eve of a 2.2% rise in rail fares.

The administrators of

collapsed delivery firm City Link have announced 2,356 job losses after a bid to buy the company failed.

The administrators, who took over City Link on Christmas Eve, said an unnamed consortium's offer was not acceptable.

The company employs 115 people at its base in Warrington.
