The 50-year-old from Liverpool has set off from Goodison Park and will spend 11 days on the road raising money for the Woodlands Hospice.

Emlyn Hughes' widow and daughter back brain tumour campaign

The widow and daughter of Liverpool football legend Emlyn Hughes have added their names to a campaign to get more funding to tackle brain tumours.

Emlyn Hughes died of a brain tumour in 2004 at the age of 57. 

The disease kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any cancer, Brain Tumour Research said.

It said only 1% of spending on cancer research has been allocated to it.

Liverpool man urges others to seek medical help over heart attack symptoms

A man, who suffered a heart attack at the age 37, is urging others not to leave it too late before getting medical help after it was revealed one-in-three sufferers mistake their symptoms for indigestion.

Keith Wilson, from Liverpool, has since become a Research Patient Ambassador for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

The British Heart Foundation says half of people who've had a heart attack don't get medical treatment quickly enough, because they don't realise how serious their condition is.
