Man appears in court on murder charge

A Liverpool man is scheduled to appear before Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday, charged with the murder of Michael Warham in Meole Brace at the start of the month.

Declan Graves, who is 19, made an appearance before Telford magistrates this morning and will be held in custody until this next appearance.

Woman arrested after Wirral drugs raid

A "significant quantity" of suspected amphetamine has been seized in Wirral. 

Police raided a property in Wallasey yesterday recovering 48kg of white powder along with mixing agents and other equipment. 

A 24-year-old woman, from Wallasey, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and was bailed pending further inquiries.

A Liverpool man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Shropshire.

Michael Warham, also from Liverpool, was found by a member of the public with a stab wound in Wayford Close in Meole Brace on 1 August.

Declan Graves, 19, of Dymchurch Road, Liverpool has been charged with murder and is due to appear before magistrates in Telford later.

Man arrested over Liverpool city centre street attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an attack on a woman in Liverpool city centre.

The 38-year-old woman suffered face and head injuries on Vernon Street. 

A 47-year-old man has been questioned and released on bail while the investigation continues.

Boy, 9, critical after Scarisbrick car crash

A nine-year-old boy is critically ill in Liverpool's Alder Hey Hospital after he was involved in a car crash in Scarisbrick.

He was a passenger in a Volkswagen Polo when it crashed with a BMW on Southport Road close to Scaribrick last night and the child was taken to hospital by air ambulance. 

The driver of the BMW - who is a 32-year-old woman from Ormskirk - suffered a punctured lung and broke her ribs, elbow and arm.

Roads closures as cycle event returns to Liverpool

The annual Sky Ride returns to Liverpool this weekend and motorists are advised to stay away from the city centre on Sunday as the streets are being given over to thousands of cyclists.

The mum of murdered Merseyside toddler James Bulger has spoken of her ordeal at the hands of twitter trolls. 

Last month, Chloe Cowan from Margate was sentenced to three years in prison, after sending tweets to Denise Fergus where she posed as James's killers - and as his ghost.

I've been to hell and back over the past 23 years and to read something like that really takes you back.

Sometimes I think 'why do I bother?' if I'm getting comments like this, but for that one person who comments like that there are thousands who are for me - and that's what has kept me going.

Two teenagers have been arrested after being found hiding under the floorboards of a house in which police discovered a cannabis farm.

Police found about 100 cannabis plants - with an estimated street value of about £400,000 - when they raided the property in Suburban Road, Anfield, at about 14:25 on Thursday.

The men, 18 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis after being discovered below the floorboards while officers searched the house.
