Chris Wilder decision on Charlton not expected today

The BBC understands that a decision on whether Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder and his assistant Alan Knill will leave the club for Charlton is unlikely to be today.

Chairman Kelvin Thomas admitted that Northampton Town "would not be able to match the salary" potentially being offered to Wilder from Charlton.

Northamptonshire County Council's cabinet has approved the closure of eight children's centres across the county.

The plans also include moving a further 14 into libraries. The proposal are due to £3m budget cut to the centres.

Eight children's centre to close to save £3m

Plans to close eight children's centres across Northamptonshire are being discussed today by the county council's cabinet.

Alongside the closures are proposals to move a further fourteen centres into libraries.

Earlier this year, councillors agreed to cut the budget for the centres by £3m.

Northamptonshire got themselves back into the game yesterday evening with six wickets in the final session but they remain 313 runs behind - it would have to be a record run-chase for Northants against Leicestershire to win from here

But whether we’ll get any more cricket in this game remains to be seen. Today’s forecast is awful with heavy rain forecast throughout the day. Tomorrow is only marginally better so Northants could yet escape with a draw.

The world champion is 43 points behind his Mercedes team-mate after a series of problems in the first four races and victories for the German in all of them.

Hamilton said eliminating the deficit will be a "big challenge" but added: "There's a lot more to come from us."

EMAS to recruit 300 more staff

Concerns were raised about the lack of resources including staff and vehicles although inspectors did recognise that EMAS had taken steps to cut response times.

Bath are to sign Northampton Saints' Kahn Fotuali'i, head coach Mike Ford has revealed to BBC Radio Bristol.

The Samoa scrum-half, 33, has been with Northampton since joining from the Ospreys in 2013 and was part of their Premiership title-winning side in 2014.

Ford said that the signing of Fotuali'i will add experience to his side.

County Championship: Leicestershire on top against Northants

Northampton Town chairman Kelvin Thomas has said that his phone has been "red hot" and his email inbox "buzzing" after the club said they had given manager Chris Wilder and his assistant Alan Knill permission to speak to Charlton about their managerial vacancy.

East Midlands Ambulance Service staffing 'insufficient'

A report into East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) has found it has "insufficient staff" to meet the needs of patients in a "timely manner".

The troubled NHS trust has been struggling financially and has some of the worst response times in England.

However, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) said staff were committed to providing high quality, safe care despite suffering from low morale.

The health watchdog said inspectors also saw some "outstanding practice".
