And all-rounder Steven Crook admits the county side are going to miss him...

Northampton Borough Council took out an interim injunction to prevent the sale of the house, thought to be worth more than £1m.

The authority is trying to recover £10.25m it loaned to the Cobblers to fund the building of a new stand. The property cannot be sold without the agreement of the borough council.

The order was made with the consent of both parties.

Northants overseas player an unknown quantity

Alex Winter

BBC Radio Northampton sport

While other, richer, counties have been signing established big names for the T20 Blast, Northamptonshire have brought in Sri Lankan legspinner Sekkuge Prassana.

He’s very much an unknown quantity, but arrives with a good record in one-day cricket. His leg spin is potentially a great asset to the bowling attack and he can be very dangerous with the bat too.

Northants' small squad could be an advantage in T20 campaign

Alex Winter

BBC Radio Northampton sport

Northamptonshire’s business model is built around success in one-day cricket, so a good performance in the T20 is essential to the club enjoying success on the field and on the balance sheet.

They became a very effective T20 side last season with their small squad actually proving an advantage – everyone knows their role in the team. Half of their practice over the winter was on their one-day skills too.

Detectives in Northamptonshire have been given more time to investigate allegations of electoral fraud.

Rockingham International Horse Trials: 'We have horses worth more than houses'

Hundreds of horses take part in the Rockingham International Horse Trials, taking place today at Rockingham Castle.

That means plenty of work for stabling manager, Melissa Betts. She said it is important to make sure all the horses involved are "fit and healthy, and haven't been poorly in the last year or two".

But one of the biggest issues is security: "We have horses that are worth more than the average house," she said.

A Castle fit for a Queen (or her granddaughter at least)

Pete Cooper

BBC Local Live

Rockingham International Horse Trails comes with Royal approval - the Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall will be among the competitors.

As well as being the daughter of Princess Anne, Zara is a pretty decent rider too - in 2006 she won the Eventing World Championship  and was voted 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Then as a member of the Great Britain Eventing Team, she won a Silver Medal at the London 2012 Olympics. Mum even presented her with her medal.
