The Cobblers started life back in the third tier with a draw

They took just nine minutes to open their account in League One when David Buchanan's shot was only partially cleared, Alex Revell's effort hit the post and the ball bounced into the net off the diving Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Chris Neal.

But Fleetwood were back on level terms seven minutes into the second half when the Cobblers failed to deal with Conor McLaughlin's cross and Victor Nirennold stole in at the far post to score.
