Lady Pies players leaves for new job

Notts County Ladies defender Maja Krantz is to leave the club to take up a job opportunity outside of football.

The Swede joined the club ahead of the current season and has made 12 appearances.

She tweeted she was sad to leave.

Bake Off popularity has soared says former winner

Nottingham Trent graduate and former Bake Off winner, Frances Quinn has been talking to BBC News about how big the show has got since she appeared on it.

"We were the last year on BBC Two when it was cakes versus cars," she said.

Body was found in river by County Hall

Police have now told us they found the body in the River Trent at about 09:00 this morning, close to County Hall. 

The body still hasn't been formally identified but Mr Bugg's family had been informed of the development.

Western Power has told me the underground cable was fully repaired yesterday.

Their workers were going to reinstate the road today, but while relaying the tarmac, a cast iron pipe sprung a leak and filled the hole with water.

Statement from Mr Bugg's family

A statement has gone up on a Facebook page set up in the search for Michael Bugg.

It reads: "I have been asked by the family to thank you all from the bottom of their hearts for all your support during the search for Michael.

"The family are surrounded by their loved ones at this time and ask for time to deal with their grief."

Body find in search for missing dad

We haven't any further updates from police on the identity of the body they found in the River Trent this morning.

On Tuesday, police began extensive searches around the river following the disappearance of Michael Bugg and said the father-of-one could have "potentially" fallen in the water.

Horse lover was killed in freak accident

Kathryn Bull, 39, died at the Blidworth centre when she was strangled by her horse after it bolted and dragged her across a field.

The inquest into her death took place last week and a memorial fund has also been set up in her memory.

Steve Bull knew very little about horses but when his wife Kathryn died suddenly in a freak accident at her livery yard in Blidworth, he had to take over....and learn quickly. 

He's now even started to ride her horse.

Hales commits to club until 2018

Alex Hales has signed a new two-year contract with Nottinghamshire.

The 27-year-old has made 238 appearances for the club since his debut in 2008 and over the past year he has become an England regular.

Striker Britt Assombalonga will train today and could be fit to play against Leeds on Saturday.

He injured his hamstring celebrating his opening goal on Saturday but head coach Philippe Montanier says: "It's nothing serious. Perhaps he can play against Leeds. It's good news for us".

Husband wants to continue wife's love of helping people

Steve Bull says his wife was always working at the centre and added: "She just helped people and never stopped."

He now runs the centre in Blidworth which looks after people's horses, gives them a space to train for competitions and helps them get grants for competitions and activities overseas.

Friends and family organised searches

Michael Bugg, 39, has not been seen since about 01:00 on Sunday morning when he left the Southbank Bar on Trent Bridge after a night out celebrating his friend's 40th birthday.

Friends and family have spent the past two days searching for him and checking CCTV of nearby shops, while yesterday police said specialist boat teams were concentrating on the area around the river.

A statement from police said the body was found "moving down the river in the River Trent".

A spokesman said the family of Mr Bugg had been made aware although formal identification was still yet to take place.

Travel: Wollaton Street closes for second day

Don't forget Wollaton Street in Nottingham city centre is closed again today until 15:00 for emergency repairs to be carried out.

It's shut between the Talbot Street and Clarendon Street junctions and traffic is building up again at Canning Circus, Derby Road and Ilkeston Road.

Staff take in own cleaning equipment, says union

Corall Jenkins, who has been speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham this morning, says the problems are caused by poor staffing levels, management failures and not enough deep cleans being done.

Cleaning firm 'addressing issues'

Carillion has sent us a statement too.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Where issues have been identified we are working closely with theTrust to adapt working practices so that our services more closely match the needs of the hospitals."

He said they were working with Nottingham University Hospitals Trust to "address outstanding issues".

Hospital considering cleaning contract

You might remember that last month there were reports of poor standards of cleaning at City Hospital.

Bosses said then progress was being made and Carillion's cleaning contract could be terminated if standards don't improve.

The hospital trust said there has been no increase in infections over the period standards of cleanliness have deteriorated but said it is monitoring Carillion's performance monthly, and is very carefully considering the future of its contract.
