It'll be warm and humid this evening with some hazy sunshine. The night will be muggy but probably stay dry. Mist may form, especially along prone stretches of the River Thames. Some heavy, thundery showers might just affect south eastern parts just after dawn. Lows of 14C (57F).

Investigation begins into Midsomer Murders tourism windfall

People in Thame are looking to make more money out of tourism following the success of the TV series Midsomer Murders.

Several places in the town have been used as locations and it's estimated that about 15,000 people visited South Oxfordshire in 2015 because of Midsomer Murders. 

The town council is putting on a workshop by attractions elsewhere that have had success in attracting visitors off the back of a TV show.

Pregnant women could be asked to test blood pressure at home

Oxford researchers are looking at ways to reduce the risks for pregnant women of developing the potentially fatal condition pre-eclampsia.

It's caused by high blood pressure and affects about one in every 20 expectant mothers. 

Scientists hope by giving women the means to test their own blood pressure at home the number of cases could be reduced. 

David Cameron out and about in Oxfordshire

On the last day of campaigning in the EU referendum, the prime minister has been out and about in Oxfordshire.

A police officer who tackled a man threatening to set himself on fire has been nominated for a Police Bravery Award.

Constable Garry Dixon dealt with a grief-stricken man at a house in Abingdon, in September 2013, who was behaving unpredictably after the death of his father.

After a standoff, during which the man threw hammers at police from a shed, he poured petrol over himself and threw it at Constable Dixon, and tried to set light to himself.

University staff picket honorary degree ceremony in Oxford

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) have been picketing outside the Encaenia Ceremony, where honorary degrees are awarded.

They gathered outside the Sheldonian Theatre this morning as dons arrived to protest over pay.

Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust hopes to secure £2m of Heritage Lottery Funding for the Reconnect project.

Oxfam staff prepare for Jo Cox event in London

Oxfam staff from the charity's Oxford HQ have travelled to Trafalgar Square to join events taking place around the world to mark the birthday of killed MP Jo Cox.

Organisers said the events, on what would have been her 42nd birthday, would "show the world we have more in common than that which divides us".

Tributes are planned in New York, Paris, London and in Mrs Cox's Batley and Spen constituency.

Oxford United fixtures: U's kick off at home to Chesterfield

The League One fixture list is out, and the U's have a home game to kick off the 2016/17 season.

They'll face Chesterfield at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 6 August, before immediately launching themselves into a first-round EFL Cup tie the following Wednesday.

And the Swindon games? The U's face their local rivals at home on 10 September and away on 4 February.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe and Horton hospitals, says it employs nearly 1,400 European health workers.
