Southern overtime ban due to 'total lack of trust'

Bob Dale

BBC Live reporter

Southern rail passengers face fresh disruption to their journeys today due to the train drivers' union Aslef introducing an overtime ban.

General Secretary Mick Whelan said the ban reflects the "total loss of trust and goodwill between train drivers and the company".

"Drivers work overtime on an entirely voluntary basis and have no contractual obligation to do so", he said.

However, Southern's passenger services director Angie Doll said the action was going to be "very inconvenient" but the company would be putting in a "revised timetable".

And you can hear more on this story on the BBC Sussex Breakfast Show with Neil Pringle. You can listen here.

How is the overtime ban affecting you? You can get in touch on Twitter, on Facebook or by sending us an email.
