The Housing Executive has been accused of undermining a council's efforts to get rid of eyesores,

the Newtownabbey Times reports.

DUP's Thomas Hogg and Pamela Barr made the claim after saying that three out of five derelict properties on the Shore Road in Whiteabbey are owned by the executive.

He told the bride `to take a couple of deep breaths` and that she was safe in the church.

where the shooting took place. "I was in the sacristry getting ready and the bride was at the back of the church, standing waiting to come up the aisle. "The next thing I heard was (people shouting), 'there's shots, there's shots'.

Police are becoming concerned for 39 year old Alexsej Tichnovic who was last seen in the Larne area on Friday 6 February.

One eyewitness described hearing an argument and shots being fired. He said there was panic and people fled the scene.

A primary school is next door to the church but a staff member said they didn't know what had happened and children were being picked up as normal.

It's believed that two men who were injured in the

shooting incident at a wedding in Newtownbutler were brought to Lisnaskea police station.


It's also believed that the wedding involved members of the travelling community and that they were not local.

The Western Health Trust says that two men are being treated for injuries in the south west acute hospital in Enniskillen following

No peace over bridge

A row has broken out at Strabane council over the

naming of a new bridge in the town.

Sinn Féin has been accused of a "party political stunt" after it proposed that the new footbridge be named after its late councillor Ivan Barr. All other parties voted against the proposal but it was passed because of a Sinn Féin majority.
