Alistair Cooke - Letter from America: My friends Bing and Chaplin

Among the 920 surviving recordings of Alistair Cooke's Letter from America are poignant and often personal tributes to the passing of showbusiness stars. Here, in the second of five slideshows featuring highlights from the collection, Cooke remembers his friend Bing Crosby, offers a eulogy to the trumpeter Louis Armstrong, and looks back at the life of the best man at his wedding - Charlie Chaplin.
