Tories hopeful

Reevel Alderson

BBC Scotland Home Affairs correspondent

Tories say it's looking hopeful for a victory in Dumfries and Galloway. The Tories were second in 2015 behind the SNP who had a majority of 6541.

SNP "still winners"

Reevel Alderson

BBC Scotland Home Affairs correspondent

Joan McAlpine, SNP MSP for the South of Scotland, says she doubts the accuracy of the exit poll as its Scottish sample is small. But she says even if it were correct, the SNP would still have won the election in Scotland and the Tories who attempted to turn the poll into a vote on Indyref2 would have been defeated.

Blazin' Fiddles

Reevel Alderson

BBC Scotland Home Affairs correspondent

The counts are well under way in Dumfries for two of Scotland's largest constituencies. Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Secretary's seat of Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweedale are being counted in the Easterbrook Hall. Advertising here is still evident for a recent concert of Blazin' Fiddles. Let's hope there's none of that in the counting process.
