Secretary of State David Mundell has a special reason to look forward to having Scottish Tory colleagues after 12 years of being the only Conservative MP from north of the Border.

He said: "I am hoping there'll be some eager beavers who'll be willing to do the 06:10 slot on Good Morning Scotland."

SNP "still winners"

Reevel Alderson

BBC Scotland Home Affairs correspondent

Joan McAlpine, SNP MSP for the South of Scotland, says she doubts the accuracy of the exit poll as its Scottish sample is small. Blazin' Fiddles

The counts are well under way in Dumfries for two of Scotland's largest constituencies. Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Secretary's seat of Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweedale are being counted in the Easterbrook Hall. Advertising here is still evident for a recent concert of Blazin' Fiddles. Let's hope there's none of that in the counting process.
