How to turn a house plant into a musical instrument

11 November 2013 Last updated at 00:12 GMT

A design studio in east London has developed an experimental circuit board synthesiser which you can plug into your household items.

The Ototo board can be played on its own or via pots, pans or even plants, as Mark McKeague of Dentaku explains.

The designers have also built cardboard cut-out instruments for the device and are encouraging others to do the same.
