In-car app store Vinli gets a test-drive

Cars may be the ultimate "mobile" device, but until now there have been few efforts to connect them to cloud.

Now, amid rising consumer interest and falling costs, start-ups and automotive giants are trying to exploit a potentially lucrative market.

Vinli is a start-up promising an in-car app store for its $99 (£64) device.

Its gadget provides a slew of internet connected apps, as well as advanced diagnostics about the car itself, and can be retrofitted to vehicles that are twenty years old.

The BBC's Richard Taylor took Vinli for a test-drive with its founder Mark Haidar to see how it works.
