What happened when I tried drinking deadly bath oil

Dozens have died in Russia from poisoning

More than 70 people have died in the Siberian city of Irkutsk after drinking a toxic batch of bath oil containing methanol. The hawthorn-scented bath oil was consumed because it was seen as a cheap substitute to conventional alcoholic drinks. Experts say that up to 12 million Russians drink cheap alternatives to regular alcohol, including perfume, aftershave, anti-freeze and window cleaner. Andrey Yegorov who lives in Moscow told us about when he came across people drinking the bath oil and even tried it himself. (Picture - Andrey Yegorov)
