They're breathtaking wedding photos, I'm sure you'll agree, the wedding venue itself was a little, shall we say, snug:

Sheffield man Tom Sylvester is due to marry his fiance Julie Baum at the Rothera Research Station.

It'll be the first official wedding to take place in the British Antarctic Territory.

The couple, who have been together for 11 years, will share their special day with 20 fellow "over-winterers" and will have a two-day celebration.

Julie, assisted by some of the women on station, is making her own wedding dress.

I hope it's a warm one - the temperature this weekend is a balmy -52C.

We have always wanted to have a small personal wedding, but never imagined we’d be able to get married in one of the most remote places on Earth.”
