An Oldham man who fought with anti-government forces in Ukraine has been jailed for a terrorism offence.

Benjamin Stimson, 41, was admitted a charge under the Terrorism Act 2006 at Manchester Crown Court.

Stimson travelled out to Ukraine in 2015 to join pro-Russian rebels.

The court heard he was arrested when he arrived back at Manchester Airport and said: "I think I need a lawyer."

He was jailed for five years and four months.
