Dressing up for Notting Hill Carnival - Masquerade 2000

West London's streets will be filled with dazzling sequins and feather-clad costumes this August Bank Holiday, as Notting Hill hosts Europe's biggest street festival.

But preparing for carnival is a year-round job for one of the leading "mas", or costume bands.

BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat travelled across the city to Leyton in east London, to take a sneek peek at Masquerade 2000's colourful creations.
