Are you worried about the amount of debt you owe? Put your questions to Pavan Gata-Aura of the Consumer Credit Counselling Service.

Collectively the UK owes £1,244 billion in mortgages and £208 billion in other types of loan, including outstanding borrowing on credit cards.

The economy is apparently moving into recession again, wages and living standards are being squeezed, and unemployment is going up.

That means more people will find dealing with their debts a big problem, or even impossible.

What should they do? Refuse to pay? Haggle? Or ask for help?

If you are finding it difficult to deal with your debts, send your questions to the BBC a selection of which will be answered by Pavan Gata-Aura of the Consumer Credit Counselling Service.

A selection of questions and answers will be published on the BBC News website on Monday 6 February.
