Tom Watson: 'Dozen MPs' targeted by tabloids

22 May 2012 Last updated at 16:08 BST

Tom Watson has told the Leveson Inquiry he has been approached by "about a dozen" MPs who believe they have been unfairly targeted by tabloid newspapers.

The Labour MP said MPs from all parties felt "intimidated and frightened" by possible revelations about their private lives or previous political errors.

Mr Watson said he had urged other MPs to give their own accounts to the inquiry, which is looking into press standards.
