Probe into judge who praised burglar's 'courage'

Help

David Cameron has taken issue with a judge who said it required courage to carry out a burglary.

Judge Peter Bowers made his comments at Teesside Crown Court, as he gave a suspended prison sentence to a man who had burgled three homes.

There have been several complaints about the judge's remarks, and it's been confirmed that he's to be investigated by the Office for Judicial Complaints.

Ed Thomas reports.
