The mother of a six-year-old girl who was abducted three years ago has described her emotional reunion with her daughter.

Atiya Anjum-Wilkinson was taken from her home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, on her third birthday in 2009.

Her father abducted her and took her to live in Pakistan.

On Friday, she was reunited with her mother Gemma Wilkinson at a Manchester hotel.

Ms Wilkinson said she had refused to give up on seeing her daughter again.

Speaking after her reunion with her daughter, she said: "I just want to cuddle Atiya".
