Supreme Court President: Ministers should not attack judges in public

Help

Lord Neuberger, the new President of the UK Supreme Court, has criticised government ministers who attack judges in public.

In his first broadcast interview, Lord Neuberger told the BBC's Clive Coleman that such attacks undermined both the judges and the ministers themselves, in the eyes of the public.

He also discussed his fears over the effects of legal aid cuts, and expressed his "embarrassment" about the lack of women on the Supreme Court.
