When the actor Chris O'Dowd married TV presenter Dawn Porter last year, the two of them did something very modern. They merged their surnames, and became the O'Porters.

According to the UK Deed Poll service, almost 800 British newly weds have already "meshed" their names together this year.

Bryony MacKenzie has been to meet the Puffins, one couple who decided to embrace the trend.
