The Duchess of Cambridge has officially named a new cruise ship in Southampton in her last solo public engagement before giving birth.

The duchess, whose baby is due in July, accepted an invitation to become "godmother" to Princess Cruises' 3,600-passenger ship, the Royal Princess.

The ceremony included the tradition of smashing a bottle over the hull.
