Hottest day of the year in England and Wales

Parts of England and Wales have experienced their hottest day of the year so far.

Temperatures in London reached 31C, while some areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland were 10 degrees cooler.

Forecasters are warning that some parts of the UK could see thunderstorms in the days ahead.
