Miliband row: Daily Mail full of 'bile', says Nick Clegg

3 October 2013 Last updated at 10:47 BST

The Daily Mail is 'overflowing with bile', the deputy prime minister has said.

Speaking on London's LBC radio, Nick Clegg said it was "quite understandable" that Labour leader Ed Miliband was upset after the paper ran an article about his late father, Marxist academic Ralph Miliband, under the headline "The man who hated Britain".

"It seems to me that if anyone excels in denigrating and often vilifying a lot about modern Britain, it's the Daily Mail", added Mr Clegg.
