Christmas elf and safety training for Santa's little helpers

2 December 2013 Last updated at 00:03 GMT

There are many traditions surrounding the Christmas festivities. Picking a tree, fetching the decorations from the attic, making present lists and visiting a local grotto to see Father Christmas and his Elves.

Extra Elves have to be drafted in every year to make sure the children have a magical time.

Magenta Star operates grottos throughout the UK and Northern Ireland and they recruit over 300 Elves and Santas.

Trainer and Elf hunter Kelly Hurst puts the new recruits through their paces at a training session in Bromley, and teaches them the Elf Code of Conduct.
