Hundreds of people are expected to attend the funeral of a war veteran they never knew after an appeal for service personnel spread through social media.

Harold Jellicoe Percival helped with the famous Dambusters raids during World War Two. He never married and had no children.

Mr Percival died in October, aged 99, at a nursing home in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. The funeral is to be held on Monday.

Alex Worsick reports.
