Church clock stopped 'at exact time carer died'

7 February 2014 Last updated at 11:28 GMT

A church clock in North Yorkshire, which was maintained by a local doctor for over 50 years, stopped at precisely the moment he died, according to local people.

Dr John Farrer, a warden at St James' Church in Clapham, died aged 92 at 08:13 on New Years Day.

Shortly afterwards a resident spotted that the clock had stopped at exactly the same time.

Church vicar Reverend Ian Greenhalgh told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive that it was "great tribute" to his friend.
