Farage calls for quality control immigration system

2 March 2014 Last updated at 10:57 GMT

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said that the UK should have "an immigration system based on quality control".

Speaking to The Andrew Marr Show , Mr Farage argued that the UK labour market was distorted because of "a mass oversupply of unskilled, semi-skilled and, in some cases, skilled labour".

"It has driven down wages and hurt those at the bottom of society most," he added.
