Cardinal says human trafficking is a 'hidden' problem

10 March 2014 Last updated at 20:57 GMT

Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the Archbishop of Westminster, has said he hoped a major conference in Rome next month will lift the lid on the ''hidden'' problem of human trafficking.

He told the BBC's Huw Edwards it was the concealed nature of trafficking which was slowing down progress on tackling the issue.

And he said that women in religious congregations could extend a helping hand to female victims of trafficking.
