Kent County Council criticised over Latvian boy case

29 March 2014 Last updated at 09:25 GMT

A High Court judge has criticised Kent County Council for failing to give a Latvian father the right information when his young son was taken into care.

The delay meant the little boy spent nearly a year with different foster parents. The judge added that the case has caused "enormous concern".

The boy's father told the Today programme's Sanchia Berg: "I was really shocked."

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Saturday 29 March.
