The moment Sheffield Half Marathon was cancelled

6 April 2014 Last updated at 16:50 BST

Runners in Sheffield were left aghast and angry after the city's half marathon was cancelled due to a lack of drinking water on the route.

One of its organisers Margaret Lilley was filmed putting her head in her hands as an announcer told the crowd the race would not be able to go ahead.

There were chaotic scenes at the starting point as a "significant number" of the 5,000 runners decided to run the route regardless.
