Family's choice between burning car and Longleat lions

19 April 2014 Last updated at 22:30 BST

A woman has been describing the moment when her car caught fire - in the middle of the lion enclosure at Longleat Safari Park.

Rangers managed to rescue Helen Clements, her 12-year-old daughter and son, 9, from the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames.

She told BBC News, "Luckily we couldn't see the lions... It is unbelievable - I think if it was near the flamingos we wouldn't have had the problem".

Another visitor, Natalie Wiltshire, filmed this video soon after the rescue.
