Police officer stabbed with sword in Northampton
A police officer has been injured after being stabbed in the leg with a sword in Northampton.
The officer was attacked when he was called to the town's Lakeview area on Sunday evening.
He was treated at Northampton General Hospital for a serious but not life-threatening wound, Ch Supt Paul Fell of Northamptonshire Police said.
A man has been arrested and Ch Supt Fell said police were not looking for anyone else.
"Officers were called to an incident in Appleby Walk at about 19:45 GMT and an officer was stabbed in the leg with a sword," he said.
"The officer is expected to make a full recovery."
