County Durham driver ambushed by snowball gang
A driver suffered a broken cheekbone after being ambushed by youths who had barricaded a road with snow and pelted his car with snowballs, police said.
The 31-year-old man from Bishop Auckland, County Durham, was surrounded by the gang after being forced to stop in the town's St Andrew's Road.
When he got out of his car to remonstrate with the group, they attacked him, Durham Police said.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses to the incident on Monday night.
A force spokesman said: "This incident resulted in the man's right cheekbone being fractured in three places and the vision in his right eye being blurred."
